How Affiliate Tracking Works
· 3 min read
Tracking links, click IDs, sub-IDs and postbacks: how conversions are attributed to publishers.
Tracking links
Each publisher gets a unique link per campaign. When a user clicks it, the network records the click with publisher ID, campaign, time and device details, then redirects to the advertiser's page with a click ID.
Sub-IDs
Publishers can add sub-IDs to the link to separate traffic sources like YouTube, Telegram or a website, and see each source in reports.
Conversion attribution
When the user converts, the advertiser sends back the click ID through a postback. The network matches it to the original click and credits the publisher. Learn about postback tracking and the affiliate tracking platform.
